Biography

Short Bio (100 words)

Jaxon Reid is a Nashville-born blues-rock guitarist and singer-songwriter whose raw, emotional sound bridges Memphis soul and Austin grit. After a decade as a sought-after session player for artists including Anderson .Paak, Chris Stapleton, and Marcus King, Reid steps into his own spotlight with his debut album River & Rust. Recorded live to tape in Austin, the album showcases his masterful slide guitar work and soulful storytelling. With performances at Austin City Limits, New Orleans Jazz Fest, and Red Rocks, Reid is emerging as one of modern blues' most compelling voices.

Long Bio (300 words)

Jaxon Reid learned slide guitar on his grandfather's resonator in Nashville, cut his teeth in Memphis dive bars before he turned 21, and spent a decade as one of the most sought-after session and touring guitarists in modern blues and soul. He's lent his raw, emotional guitar work to records and stages alongside Anderson .Paak, Chris Stapleton, Marcus King, Leon Bridges, Gary Clark Jr., and John Mayer's touring band—playing for millions while honing a sound that's entirely his own.

Rooted in Nashville upbringing, Memphis soul, and Austin grit, Reid's music is a slow-burn blend of tube warmth, real drums, and slide guitar that cuts straight through. His debut album River & Rust, recorded live to tape at Arlyn Studios in Austin, is a collection of twelve songs about redemption, heartbreak, Southern night drives, and the kind of healing that only comes from facing the truth head-on.

Reid's guitar style is built on restraint and emotion—every note feels earned. His voice carries the weight of late-night confessions and back-road revelations. With performances at Austin City Limits, New Orleans Jazz Fest, SXSW, and Red Rocks under his belt, he's now stepping fully into his own light as a solo artist.

River & Rust has earned praise from Rolling Stone, NPR Music, and Paste Magazine, with critics calling it "a stunning debut" and Reid "the most exciting blues voice to emerge in years." This is blues with a pulse. Soul with an edge. Music that feels lived-in, human, and unforgettable.
